Your formal English lessons are just one part of your experience at The Campbell Institute!

We believe language learning also needs to take place in natural settings. That’s why we organise fun activities where you can practise your new language skills.

Every day of the week The Campbell Institute offers an interesting activity to help you make new friends, practise your English, and to enjoy Wellington city.

The Campbell Institute also organises special one-off activities during the year. With these, you’ll get the chance to discover more about New Zealand - and yourself.

Speakeasy Coffee Club
Each week our students visit a different cafe with a teacher. Here you can practise your conversation skills in a ‘real’ social setting.
Campbell Cinema
Watching a movie is an easy and enjoyable way to improve your listening skills. Every week we screen a free movie. All the movies have English subtitles.

Table Tennis, Pool and Bowling
Join a table tennis tournament at school, play epic pool games, or have fun bowling at The Lanes!

Campbell Sports - Indoor football, basketball and more!
“Mens sana in corpore sano” (A sound mind in a healthy body) Come and play a sport. There’s nothing better for making new friends and relaxing your mind after studying hard!

Special Activities
Campbell Mountain Club
See more of New Zealand’s magnificent countryside. This is a chance to go bush walking, rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking, or experience another type of outdoor activity. Try something you may never have imagined you might do one day! Feel the adrenaline rush!
Campbell Stadium Games
The Campbell students follow Wellington’s local rugby and football clubs. They also follow what New Zealand’s All Blacks are up to! You’ll be able to go to sporting events at Wellington’s stadium all year round.

Campbell Concerts – New Zealand Symphony Orchestra
Our students attend classical music concerts as part of our Cultural Activities programme. The Campbell Institute works closely with New Zealand’s top orchestra, the NZSO, which is based in Wellington and offers special prices for our students To find out more about the NZSO and its next concerts, click here.

Campbell Trips
Swim in our clear blue oceans and rivers, and sunbath on our golden beaches in summer. Then in winter, ski or snowboard our mountains and afterwards relax in our natural hot pools. Or you can bungee jump from a bridge any time of the year! In New Zealand there are plenty of opportunities to go on adventures – or just relax.
