It is the land of the long white cloud, Aotearoa or New Zealand is one of the best places for international students to live and study. Almost 50% of New Zealanders live in Auckland, the biggest city in New Zealand. However, Aotearoa is not famous for its cities, but for the extraordinary and unique diversity of its nature reserves, the warm hospitality and friendliness of its people, not to mention the countless breathtaking attractions waiting for us to explore. Escape the big city, enjoy a 'back to nature' feel with a deeply rooted culture, it could be one of the most fascinating things you will ever experience!
Auckland is perfectly located for people who love outdoor activities. In fact, there are many opportunities for walking. Auckland boasts 25 regional parks within a 100km radius. What's more, Auckland offers all kinds of water activities, like surfing at famous Piha Beach or sailing in the breathtaking Hauraki Gulf. There is also an important network of ferries which can give you easy access to the quiet and picturesque island in the Gulf.
The region of Auckland is an ideal place to experience natural beauty, bush walking, hiking and cycling. Auckland is also proud of its many beautiful beaches. Without spending a cent we can go for a swim, picnic in the park, and play rugby. All of these activities enable us to get close to nature.
Just a 3 hour drive away, Rotorua offers us the possibility of learning Maori culture, visiting spectacular volcanic regions, or relaxing in the hot pools. In spite of being the biggest city in NZ, Auckland's Kiwi welcome is heartfelt. The 'friendly as' Aucklanders have 'heaps of' Kiwi expressions, 'awesome' for getting a taste of Kiwi Slang.
“I've been in Auckland for 3 months. I'm delighted with the improvement of my English. I visited Rotorua with my classmates as well, it was awesome to learn about different culture in English.” said Olivia, a student at The Campbell Institute Auckland.
“ I've been in Auckland for 2 months and I'm thrilled to meet new people coming from different parts of the world as well as friendly Kiwis and share good times traveling around the beautiful region of Auckland.” commented Mathieu another student.
It could be your oversea experience too!
