Thais and Rafael Enjoy Wellington with their Friends

Hi, we are Thais and Rafael. We are from Brazil, and we came to New Zealand to study English and travel around this country. When we arrived here we couldn’t understand what people were saying, despite having studied English in private schools in Brazil. After two months studying at The Campbell Institute we can communicate with everybody and it is really rewarding.

When someone asked us why we chose to travel to New Zealand we didn’t know what to say, but after living here we are sure it was an excellent choice. New Zealand is an amazing country.

We had the opportunity to travel around the North Island during the weekends and we discovered great cities where we tried out lots of new activities. In Rotorua we enjoyed learning about Maori culture and seeing lions up close! We loved the adrenalin of jet boat racing and the tranquility of Lake Taupo. Other highlights included Raglan’s wild beaches, learning more about the kiwi’s life, the beautiful glow worms in the Waitomo Caves and skiing the magical slopes of Whakapapa.

We lived in Wellington and this city is amazing because there are lots of things to do, wonderful places to get to know, many forms of entertainment and the people are very friendly.

Now, we have finished our English course and we are going to travel through the South Island. We hope that it will be as amazing as it has been here.
