Ruth's role at Campbell is to teach the High School Preparation Class which consists of grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, speaking, drama, maths language and concepts and internet projects. Individual education plans are also set up in the classroom, to cater for students specific needs. She is also responsible for the Holiday Booster Programme which is taught based on student requirements.

Ruth has taught in a wide range of settings from pre-school to adults and has taught all mainstream curriculum subjects at primary and intermediate levels. As well as teaching at Campbell, Ruth also teaches ESOL, English, Maths, Study Skills and Essay Writing at Kip McGrath Education Centres.

Ruth has also experienced language learning from the perspective of a student with instruction in Maori, French, Portuguese and Chinese Mandarin.

As a mother of two teenage boys, any spare time is welcomed and enjoyed by reading, watching or playing sport and socialising with family and friends.
