1. Conditions of Enrolment
1.1 All Fees must be received before enrolment can be officially 
    accepted
1.2 The General English course start days are any Monday (or, if 
    Monday is a public holiday, the next business day). For start 
    dates of other courses please refer to our website 
    www.campbell.ac.nz.
1.3 Student placement in any class is subject to English language 
    proficiency, which will be tested on arrival.
1.4 Students arriving in New Zealand on student visas must start 
    their studies as soon as possible after their arrival, as the 
    student visa term commences on their day of arrival in New 
    Zealand.
1.5 All enrolment must be made on this offical enrolment form which 
    must be completed in full and signed by the applicant, or either 
    a) the applicant's parents if the applicant is under 18 years of 
    age, or b) by the applicant's appointed agent.
1.6 If any information provided in this form is false, The Campbell Institute reserves the right to cancel the enrolment immediately. A false 
    declaration may result in complete or partial loss right to a 
    refund of tuition fees.
2. Fees
2.1 All fees should be paid on receipt of an invoice from The 
    Campbell Institute on no later than two 
    weeks prior to the course commencement date.
2.2 The Campbell Institute course fees are calculated on complete weeks and 
    no discount is given for weeks which include public holidays.
2.3 The Campbell Institute reserves the right to change its fees with 
    reasonable notice.
2.4 There will be no refund of tuition fees for obsence during a 
    course or early termination of a course.
3. Cancellation and refunds
   Cancellation by The Campbell Institute is when a course is withdrawn from offer before or after tuition begins.
3.1 Cancellation or Course Reduction before the end of the eighth 
    course day. The Campbell Institute will refund all fees, 
    minus 10% of tuition fees or NZ00.00 (whichever is the 
    lesser). We will also refund any unused any unused portion of 
    your accommodation fees, but please note that Accommodation 
    Placement Fee is non-refundable once paid.
3.2 Cancellation or Course Reduction after the end of the eighth 
    course day. The Campbell Institute will refund any unsed 
    portion of tuition fees - pro rata - minus 10% of the total 
    tuition fees or 0000 (whichever is the lesser), and less 15% 
    of the remainder of the tuition fees.
4. Withdrawal and Refund Regulations.
   Please note that all refunds will be in $NZ and will not take into 
   account any fluctuations in currency exchange rate between the 
   time of enrolment and the time of refund.
4.1 Tuition Withdrawals and Refunds. Withdrawal from a programme is 
    when a student voluntarily withdraws before or after commencing 
    studies.
    For courses less than 5 weeks:
    1. Withdrawal by a student at any time up until the end of the 
       second day of the course will result in a refund of 50% of 
       total course-related fees paid.
    2. Withdrawal from a course after the after the end of the fifth 
       day refund; however withdrawal on compassionate grounds may 
       result in a partial refund at the discretion of Head of 
       School. Compassionate grounds include major illness or 
       accident, bereavement, or other major trauma. In such a case 
       the maximum refund will be 75% of tuition fees. Enrolment fees 
       will not be refunded.
    For courses between 5 and 12 weeks:
    1. Withdrawal by a student at any time up until the end of the 
       fifth day of the course will result in a refund of 75% of 
       total course-related fees paid.
    2. Withdrawal from a course after the end of the fifth day will 
       not result in any refund; however withdrawal on compassionate 
       grounds may result in a partial refund at the discretion of 
       Head of School. Compassionate grounds include major illness or 
       accident, bereavement, or other major trauma. In such a case 
       the maximum refund will be 75% of tuition fees. Enrolment fees 
       will not be refunded.
    For courses of 3 months and greater:
    1. Withdrawal by a student at any time up until the end of the 
       eighth day of the course will result in a full refund of 
       tuition fees; minus a reasonable administration fee (not more 
       than 10% of course related fees paid, or 00.00, whichever 
       is the lesser).
    2. Withdrawal from a course after the end of the eighth day of 
       the course will not result in any refund; however withdrawal 
       on compassionate grounds may result in a partial refund at the 
       discretion of Head of School. Compassionate grounds include 
       major illness or accident, bereavement, or other major trauma. 
       In such a case the maximum refund will be 75% of tuition fees. 
       Enrolment fees will not be refunded.
4.2 Expulsions
    In the case of a student expulsion from The Campbell Institute, there will be no refund of fees.
4.3 Homestay Fees
    Homestay fees are fully refundable provided two weeks notice is 
    given to homestay provider, or two weeks of homestay fees are 
    forfeited. Accommodation Placement and Accommodation Management 
    fees are non-refundable.
5. Withdrawal and Refund Procedures
   In order to claim  refund an Application for Refund of Tuition 
   Fees must be made in writing to the institute. The application 
   must include the reason for withdrawal or cancellation. The 
   application must be submitted to the Head of School.

   The Institute will consider the following factors when awarding a 
   refund:
   1. The circumstances and reasons for withdrawal.
   2. The costs already incurred bu the school, including teachers' 
      salaries, resources committed to the delivery of the course, 
      and administrative costs.
6. Homestay Accommodation
6.1 Confirmation of flight details must be made at least 10 days 
    before arrival to coordinate homestay arrangements.
6.2 Accommodation arranged by The Campbell Institute is only available for 
    the period of study at The Campbell Institute.
6.3 Student may stay with the homestay family for one week before 
    and/or one week after the course has ended by special arrangement 
    with The Campbell Institute only.
6.4 All homestay fees must be paid to The Campbell Institute a minimum of two 
    weeks prior to the homestay check-in date.
6.5 The accommodation week is seven days and seven nights; rates for 
    additional nights will be quoted on the invoice.
6.6 Homestay information will not be released to an agent or student 
    until full fees have been received by The Campbell Institute.
6.7 If a student chooses to stay in Homestay accommodation for four 
    weeks or more, they are required to stay a minimum of four weeks 
    and are still required to give two weeks notice of their 
    intention to leave. If a student wishes to leave the host family 
    before four weeks, The Campbell Institute, at its discretion, may charge 
    up to four weeks Homestay fees as a penalty payment.
6.8 If the student is unhappy with their first homestay allocation, 
    the Homestay Administration Fee of NZ0.00 allows for the 
    student to change to a new Homestay once only, at the student's 
    request. More than one change may incur an additional 
    administration charge.
7. Independent Accommodation (Over 18)
7.1 For a student who chooses independent accommodation, The Campbell Institute will accept no responsibility for any issues that arise due 
    to accommodation. However, for all other matters, The Campbell Institute's student support team will be available to the student.
8. Independent Accommodation (Under 18)
8.1 For students staying with a caregiver not arranged by The Campbell Institute, a parental waiver form must be attached to the enrolment 
    form.
8.2 The Campbell Institute reserves the right to police vet and vist the 
    caregiver of the student.
8.3 If a waiver is not received or if The Campbell Institute deems the 
    caregiver to be unsuitable, The Campbell Institute reserves the right to 
    withdraw our offer of Place and inform the appropriate 
    authorities.
9. Holidays
9.1 The Campbell Institute is closed the last week of December, the first 
    week of January and on all New Zealand public and local holidays. 
    This does not necessarily apply to groups.
9.2 Any holidays taken by students are subject to the The Campbell Institute 
    holiday policy.
10. Insurance
10.1 Health and travel insurance is compulsory for all The Campbell Institute 
     students.
10.2 If a student has purchased an insurance policy that does not 
     meet the requirements of the New Zealand Code of Practice, 
     The Campbell Institute reserves the right to arrange insurance and apply 
     the insurance charges to the student's invoice accordingly.
10.4 The Campbell Institute does not take any responsibility for any injury 
     to students or damage / loss of student property.
11. Validity
11.1 These conditions take effect as of 1st January 2007 and remain 
     valid until revised.
12. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
12.1 On payment of fees, the terms and conditions on this enrolment 
     form will be deemed to have been accepted in full, whether or 
     not this form has been signed by the student.

The Campbell Institute is registered as a Private Training 
Establishment and courses are approved by the New Zealand 
Qualifications Authority (NZQA) pursuant to and under the provision 
of the Education Amendment Act 1990.

Code: The Campbell Institute has agreed to observe and be bound 
      by the Code of Practice for Pastoral Care of International 
      Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the 
      Code are available on request rom this institution or from the

Immigration: Full details of visa and permit requirement, advice on 
      rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and 
      reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand

Eligibility for Health Services: Most international students are not 
      entitled to publicly funded health services while in New 
      Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit, 
      you may be liable for the full cost of that treatment. Full 
      details on entitlements to publicly funded health services are 
      available through the Ministry of Health and can be viewed on

Accident Insurance: The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) 
      provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, 
      residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may 
      still be liable for all other medical treatment and related

Medical and Travel Insurance: International students must have 
      appropriate and current medical and travel insurance while 
      studying in New Zealand.
