DREAM COMES TRUE

"Wellington! The best city I have ever visited!"

In mid April, one of our alumni, Takeshi Fukuoka visited The Campbell Institute. We were very happy to see Takeshi again in Wellington. During his visit, he told us that he was going to work for one of the leading Japanese airline companies as a pilot!

Here is the story that Takeshi shared with us, which we would like to share with you.

"I studied at Onslow College from April 2005 to December 2006, and I also played in the Onslow's rugby team, then I went to Tokai University in Japan to study aviation. I lived in the U.S.A. for 1 year and 6 months as part of my flight training." According to Takeshi, he was confident to be in another English speaking country because of his prior English study with The Campbell Institute.

"I loved talking with people. To improve my communication skills, I set a goal every day. For example, I used new words when I talked with Kiwi friends so that I could remember these words." Takeshi made a lot of effort to improve his English during his stay in New Zealand. He was also involved in a volunteer work group and a rugby team. Takeshi really enjoyed being immersed in English all the time.

Takeshi thinks New Zealand is one of the most exciting places to be, "I have always been a big fan of New Zealand nature and outdoor activities, such as tramping, trecking, rafting and snowboarding. Through these outdoor activities, I made many friends and shared time together. And of course, I could practice my English with them, too."

Takeshi started working as a pilot for All Nippon Airways (ANA). He is currently working as a trainee for co-pilot of bombardier 400 dash 8. With his growing confidence in his English abilities, he is looking forward to traveling around the world as a pilot in the near future.

"Wellington offered me the perfect study environment. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Wellington made my dream come true! I appreciate the people I met in Wellington who supported me during my stay in the city. My experience in Wellington has became one of my best memories. Just like me, you can make your dream come true in Wellington!"
